One Another features images mainly taken at night in St Petersburg and Berlin. Leaden-coloured scenes, greasy spoon cafs, empty halls and old hotel rooms that seem to echo with traces of the past. And people’s faces – hurried glances, small awkward gestures, hands searching for support, the signs of grief or desperation in the corner of an eye – people breaking through the glass of loneliness. For Resnik, photography is the way to stop a moment and look deeper into reality, to step past the often painful dichotomy between subject and the object.

One Another presenta immagini scattate principalmente di notte a San Pietroburgo e Berlino. Scene color piombo, caffetterie unte, corridoi vuoti e vecchie stanze d’albergo che sembrano risuonare di tracce del passato. E i volti delle persone – sguardi frettolosi, piccoli gesti goffi, mani in cerca di sostegno, i segni del dolore o della disperazione con la coda dell’occhio – persone che sfondano il vetro della solitudine. Per Resnik, la fotografia è il modo per fermare un momento e guardare più in profondità nella realtà, per superare la dicotomia spesso dolorosa tra soggetto e oggetto.
